This is a Thanksgiving-inspired variation on the folk song / nursery rhyme “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly。”

Funny 😆
Villain E,
The old lady with pica eats some Thanksgiving themed items and pukes up a parade float。 I'm kind of horrified, but my kids are entertained。 The old lady with pica eats some Thanksgiving themed items and pukes up a parade float。 I'm kind of horrified, but my kids are entertained。 。。。more
Sally Wilsey,
My Granddaughter loves these books。 What I want to know is there anything she can’t swallow? In this book she swallows a lot of larger things as well as a turkey。 This is illustrated in typical Old Lady style which is clever and cute。 It is done in rhyming format so it’s easy and fun to read。 Great start reading book and for children to learn rhyming。
Noah Rachal,
The story itself was a carrying on type of story that escalated from one thing to another。 For example, "a lady swallowed a turkey, and then she swallowed a ball。 The ball was used to throw with the turkey。。。" and so on。 It was a story that picked up on what the lady ate and how it was used towards the last thing she ate。 It goes on like this for the whole story, and quite honestly, the item she eats and how she uses these items for the previous things she eats doesn't quite make sense。 The stor The story itself was a carrying on type of story that escalated from one thing to another。 For example, "a lady swallowed a turkey, and then she swallowed a ball。 The ball was used to throw with the turkey。。。" and so on。 It was a story that picked up on what the lady ate and how it was used towards the last thing she ate。 It goes on like this for the whole story, and quite honestly, the item she eats and how she uses these items for the previous things she eats doesn't quite make sense。 The story, to me is nothing more than a bunch of jibberish。 I feel like it could have been more detailed with a much better plot。 。。。more

Amanda,
My coworker and I used this adorable book for a puppet show video to distribute to local schools。 We had the old lady puppet and shoved cut out pictures of the food items inside of her mouth。 The pictures made her grow fatter and fatter until she was full。 This is a very cute sequel in the "Old Lady" book series。 I will use it again next Thanksgiving。 My coworker and I used this adorable book for a puppet show video to distribute to local schools。 We had the old lady puppet and shoved cut out pictures of the food items inside of her mouth。 The pictures made her grow fatter and fatter until she was full。 This is a very cute sequel in the "Old Lady" book series。 I will use it again next Thanksgiving。 。。。more

I like the original one but these newer ones are kind of absurd they Don't really rhyme and they try too hard to be funny。 I like the original one but these newer ones are kind of absurd they Don't really rhyme and they try too hard to be funny。 。。。more
Kacie Roth,
I loved the original There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly as a child, and I also love this spin-off。 It is a great book to read if you're looking for a laugh or to get into the Thanksgiving holiday spirit。 This book is also filled with great vocabulary and rhyming words for children。 I loved the original There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly as a child, and I also love this spin-off。 It is a great book to read if you're looking for a laugh or to get into the Thanksgiving holiday spirit。 This book is also filled with great vocabulary and rhyming words for children。 。。。more

For: nonsense fans; readers looking for a book that builds off of itself。Possible red flags: silliness; gluttony; characters in peril。
Kinsley Troutman,
There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey is a silly story included in a series of other books written by Lucille Colandro。 I would teach sequencing with this book during the month of November。 Students will also be able to participate in reading as it is respective。
Morlando K,

These are fun stories to share with kiddos。 My niece and nephew love reading before bedtime and this is a good one to share for the holidays that they will both enjoy。
Jordan,
There are many, many old lady books, but this one is a must read for Thanksgiving。 The old lady swallows a turkey, balloon, football, hat, and many more things! But why does she swallow them in this story? This is a silly book for early elementary students。 The repetition and rhyming creates a way for students to read along。 There are great sequencing activities to do with this book with your students so they can retell the story。 One idea I love is to glue the things she swallows in order on a There are many, many old lady books, but this one is a must read for Thanksgiving。 The old lady swallows a turkey, balloon, football, hat, and many more things! This wasnt one of the better there was an old lady book, but it followed along with the same theme。 She swallows a lot of stuff and it all comes out。 The end。 My 3 kids did find it funny。
